Catholic conspiracy?

So I need to find the most accurate way to describe “maulvi” (it’s for something I was writing, don’t ask what) and I go to Dictionary.com, type the word and hit Search.

And this is what it says:
No entry found for “maulvi”

Did you mean “maul vi”?
Intrigued, I click on “maul vi”. And then this is what it says:
No entry found for “maul vi”

Did you mean “Paul VI”?
Hmm.

  4. Jai, Maulvi is spelt in many different ways in different countries. In Iran the transliteration is often Molavi (it's pronounced differently as well). Other variations include Maulwi, Mawlvi, Maulawi, etc. Apparently it means "our guide, or master, or lord" in Arabic and Persian. Maulana and Maulvi are two different forms of the same word.

  7. Prepare to die anyway - it's likely to happen sometime even if you don't ridicule Islam.
BTW "Rashid" is the Arab for guide. "Maulavi" means something close to teacher I think.
("Maulava" is the Russian for a horny woman.)
