When I type my masterpiece...

Just espied this quote on Zigzackly; it puts blogging in perspective.

We've all heard that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually produce a masterpiece. Now, thanks to the Internet, we know this is not true.- Eyler Coates

  1. ...which reminds me of this wonderful poem:

An Infinite Number of MonkeysAfter all the Shakespeare, the book
of poems they type is the saddest
    in history.

But before they can finish it,
they have to wait for that Someone
    who is always

looking to look away. Only then
    can they strike the million
    keys that spell

    humiliation and grief, which are
    the great subjects of Monkey
    Literature

and not, as some people still
    believe, the banana
    and the tire.

  2. That sad song is no more sad. We have Linux, Wikipedia, Seti@Home...I could go on counting the masterpieces we MilionMonkeys are churning out.
