It made it exiting to me again and now i watch religiously hwhether im betting or not!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8204542.post-1136774756365928642006-01-09T08:15:00.000+05:302006-01-09T08:15:00.000+05:30Hmm...Funny, I'm the complete opposite and finally...Hmm...Funny, I'm the complete opposite and finally fell for cricket after watching the Indians tour Oz in 1991-92. Or thereabouts. Kapil Dev, Ravi Shastri, an 18yo Tendulkar. I'd have to second venusian_observer, though - I'm a Lankan-Aussie who grew up here, but I've found it hard to support the Aussie cricket team for those reasons. For a long time subcontinental teams got a really poor rap, though this finally changed after 1995-96 and a few good series where the Indians trounced Oz abroad, and of course, Tendulkar. They've gotten better though - media and team :-).flygirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17542497179709631855noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8204542.post-1132040581132770732005-11-15T13:13:00.000+05:302005-11-15T13:13:00.000+05:30No need to apologise, Venusian Observer. You haven...No need to apologise, Venusian Observer. You haven't "blotched" my innocent infatuation - it's still as strong as ever. OZ rules!

And you're right, I haven't watched cricket in Australia. Have seen Indian crowds throwing bottles and hurling abuses though. Aren't all we Earthlings such miserable little things? I even cried when they lost the 1996 finals :). But, now I seem to have lost such an irrational obsession.
and, at least your friends were dismayed. I am used to getting rounded and blasted by 20-odd friends a 1000 times for the last 10-12 years (even when Aussies keep winning; and more when Aussies lose) :).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
